About The Role

In collaboration with hackajob, MANTECH is seeking a motivated and experienced Data Scientist to join their team in Fort Meade, MD. This role is pivotal in driving forward the company's statistical analytics and cloud-based data solutions aimed at national security objectives. As a Data Scientist at MANTECH, you will work closely with subject matter experts, intelligence analysts, and customers to develop, prototype, and transition advanced analytic models from concept to operational deployment. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-value data-driven insights that support critical decision-making processes. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of integrating machine learning techniques into mission operations, ultimately contributing to national security efforts through innovative data science applications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quantitative and technical disciplines, along with extensive experience in data science roles. Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience working with data analysis tools and frameworks such as Python, R, SQL, or similar languages. A bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, data science, physics, or a related field is required; alternatively, candidates with four additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. The candidate must demonstrate a solid understanding of statistical modeling, data analysis, and proficiency in working within secure cloud environments. Additionally, experience in developing and deploying data workflows and pipelines, as well as familiarity with machine learning techniques and MLOps practices, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute and contribute technical expertise across multiple data science and analytic development efforts within a secure cloud environment, ensuring adherence to security protocols and best practices.

Collaborate with customers, intelligence analysts, and Subject Matter Experts to define analytic requirements aligned with mission objectives and operational needs.

Prototype, develop, and transition data pipelines and advanced analytics into scalable, operational environments to facilitate real-time and predictive insights.

Apply statistical modeling, data analysis, and graph-based approaches to complex datasets, preparing workflows that support future integration of machine learning models.

Manage individual analytic tasks, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality technical work that meets project specifications and objectives.

Support the continuous improvement of data science processes and tools, staying current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the field.
