About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a Cryptography Software Engineer to join a leading cybersecurity organization. The Cryptography Software Engineer will support the development of secure cryptographic and PKI solutions while contributing to Linux-based software delivery, DevOps automation, and secure engineering initiatives. The Cryptography Software Engineer is a long term contract opportunity and requires you to work onsite 2 days per week in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities of the Cryptography Software Engineer:

Develop and maintain cryptographic services, libraries, and secure software solutions using Golang and C.

Support the development and enhancement of PKI-based security solutions.

Build and manage Linux software packaging and deployment processes (RPM, DEB).

Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and GitHub development practices.

Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and engineering productivity.

Requirements of the Cryptography Software Engineer:

5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on security, cryptography, or systems programming.

Strong experience with Golang and C programming in Linux environments.

Hands-on experience developing or supporting PKI and cryptographic solutions.

Experience with Linux packaging technologies including RPM, DEB, or similar tools.

Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and infrastructure automation.

Experience with cloud technologies and secure software development best practices.

Compensation for the Cryptography Software Engineer:

$110,000 - $135,000
