we're hiring software engineers.

we're Versaunt (versatile + savant). Versaunt.com is the company and research lab behind Trygaas.com, the product we're building.

Trygaas is building autonomous, self-learning AI agents that create, run, and optimize advertising for businesses across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, and eventually every major advertising platform.

we just closed our pre-seed. now we're deploying it to build the team that helps us scale.

we don't hire often. so this is a rare one.

you'd be joining our founding team and working directly with me, Keylem Collier, my cofounder and CTO Greg Steckel, and our founding engineer.

no layers, no bureaucracy. you ship it, it's live, customers feel it the same day.

what you'd be building

the biggest problem we're trying to solve is agent behavior.

how do you build an agent that does what you want it to do without having to explicitly tell it what to do every single time?

how do you get an LLM to make good decisions when the answer isn't deterministic?

how does an agent learn from what happened yesterday and make a better decision tomorrow?

how do you give it memory, tools, context, goals, and feedback and get it to actually use all of that intelligently?

how do you make an agent run for a long time, make hundreds of decisions, recover when it's wrong, and continuously get better?

that's the type of stuff we're thinking about every day.

we're working on autonomous agents, self-learning agents, recursive learning, agent memory, long-horizon tasks, evaluations, tool use, planning, and figuring out how to actually control the behavior of these systems.

we don't need someone who just knows how to call an LLM API.

we want someone who understands how these models think. someone who can look at an agent doing something stupid, figure out why it's doing it, and then figure out how to change the system so it behaves differently.

a lot of that is going to be experimentation. a lot of it is going to be research. and a lot of it is going to be really good engineering.

the codebase itself is big and fast-moving. most of it is backend. a lot of it is AI.

we're orchestrating autonomous agents, wiring up video and image generation models, building deep integrations across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, and other platforms, and building the infrastructure that lets all of these systems work together.

the hard part isn't any single piece. it's the connections.

there's a web of agents, backend logic, models, tools, APIs, databases, and relationships running across the whole system, and you have to be able to hold it in your head, reason about it, and make smart architectural calls under pressure.

this is systems thinking, top to bottom. critical thinking. thoughtfulness. being proactive instead of waiting to be told what to do.

you'll mostly live in the backend, but you have to be able to move across the stack and own frontend when the work calls for it.

Python is probably the most important language for this role.

we use a mix of Google Cloud, AWS, and Supabase. you don't need to be an expert in all three, but you should have real experience building production systems on at least one of them.

who we want

someone hungry. incredibly motivated, incredibly passionate, and looking for a startup to throw themselves into.

more importantly, we want someone who's already proven they understand what working at a startup actually feels like.

we're looking for people who've worked at startups before. ideally early-stage startups where things were moving quickly, the codebase wasn't perfect, priorities changed constantly, and you still had to ship good work.

we especially want to hear from:

former founders, including the ones whose startups didn't make it. if you built something and it failed, you learned things we want on this team.

former startup CTOs and technical founders who've already lived in the deep end

early engineers at startups who have had real ownership over important systems

engineers who've built autonomous agents or serious agentic systems

people who've spent way too much time thinking about agent behavior, memory, reasoning, evaluations, self-learning, or recursive learning

engineers with strong system design or system architecture experience

people who've shipped their own apps or products

people who've interned or worked at really strong engineering organizations and learned what good production code actually looks like

what matters more than years on a resume is whether you can think.

we want people who can write really good code.

code that's readable. code that's maintainable. code that's scalable. code that doesn't fall apart six months later when ten other systems depend on it.

we use AI to code every day. you probably should too.

but we don't want vibe coders.

if you can't understand the code you're shipping, reason about the architecture around it, debug it when it breaks, or know when the model gave you a bad answer, this probably isn't the place for you.

important context

this is going to be hard. 50-60 hour weeks are the norm here. everyone on the team is already working them.

we move fast, the bar is high, and the work is demanding.

you're going to get problems where nobody knows the answer yet.

sometimes there won't be a ticket telling you exactly what to build. sometimes the problem itself won't even be clearly defined yet.

we want people who like that.

people who see a problem and start thinking about how to solve it before somebody asks them to.

we want people who want the grind.

the upside: we're a small team that's good at what we do and has a real amount of fun doing it.

you'll be working out of Midtown Atlanta, mostly from the Biltmore and sometimes out of Georgia Tech, with a founding team that's building this company every day.

the problems we're working on are some of the most interesting problems in AI right now.

and for the right person, the equity could matter a lot down the line.
