About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join J.P. Morgan's Digital Post Trade Technology group within the Commercial & Investment Bank. In this pivotal role, you will be a core member of an agile team dedicated to designing, developing, and enhancing trusted market-leading technology products. Your responsibilities will encompass building secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support the firm's strategic objectives. You will play a critical role in conducting comprehensive technology solutions across multiple technical domains, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a formal degree or certification in software engineering or related fields, complemented by a minimum of five years of practical experience in software development. Demonstrated expertise in delivering system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability is essential. Advanced proficiency in Java, particularly with Spring Boot framework, is required, along with a strong understanding of Kafka for real-time data streaming. Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, or Elastiq is preferred. Candidates should have a solid grasp of agile methodologies, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security protocols. A proven track record of working within technical disciplines such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or machine learning will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design and implement innovative software solutions, ensuring high quality, security, and performance standards are met.
Develop secure, scalable production code and review code written by peers to maintain best practices and code quality.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability and efficiency.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and applicability within existing systems.
Drive the adoption and awareness of emerging technologies by leading communities of practice across software engineering teams.
