About The Role

Embark on a transformative journey as a Liquid Financing Senior Full Stack Software Engineer within Barclays. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive technical expertise to develop and enhance software solutions that support our liquid financing products. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing Level 3 support, and working closely with business partners and cross-functional teams across regions. Operating in a dynamic, global environment, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that meet evolving business needs. Your role is integral to maintaining Barclays' commitment to technological excellence and delivering innovative banking solutions to a worldwide customer base.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or related fields, complemented by practical experience in full stack development. Proficiency in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, EJB, JDBC, JPA, Servlets, JSP, Struts, HTML, CSS, and SQL Server is essential. Demonstrated ability to interpret user requirements and independently translate them into high-quality, deployable code is critical. Candidates should have a proven track record of overcoming complex tasks, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Experience working with Spring Framework, JBoss, and GridGain is highly desirable. Additional valued skills include familiarity with messaging technologies like JMS, EMS, MQ, and XML, as well as understanding of design patterns, Agile, and Lean methodologies. Front-end experience with Ext JS, AngularJS, and TreeGrid, along with knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Integration, JBoss Drools, and Quartz Scheduler, will be advantageous. Proficiency with MS SQL Server, Maven, and GitLab DUO is also preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives.

Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to organizational technology communities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure the security of software solutions.

Implement effective unit testing to ensure code quality, readability, and reliability, supporting continuous integration and deployment processes.
