About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our dynamic team at Ancestry. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, deriving actionable insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes across various departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for genealogy and history. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
Proven experience (3+ years) in data analysis, data mining, or a similar role.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other relevant data analysis tools.
Strong understanding of statistical methods and data visualization techniques.
Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based data platforms.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Interest or background in genealogy, history, or related fields is a plus.
Responsibilities
Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively across teams.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable solutions.
Design and implement data collection processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
Assist in the development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms to enhance user experience and personalization.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data-driven initiatives, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data analysis and genealogy technology.
