Software Engineer

About the role

A large cloud technology business is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team. This role focuses on developing advanced compiler software that transforms machine learning models for deployment on custom hardware accelerators. You will solve complex optimization problems to ensure high performance for large-scale language models, vision transformers, and multi-modal systems.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and implementing software solutions to enhance compiler performance and stability
• Transforming models from various frameworks for deployment on specialized hardware
• Solving optimization challenges for large language models and generative AI workloads
• Collaborating with hardware architects and scientists on pre-silicon design and new features
• Engaging with open-source communities to influence industry standards for ML workloads

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience in object-oriented programming using C++ or Java
• Strong understanding of machine learning model architectures and internal mechanics
• Background in compiler design or building models on hardware accelerators
• Familiarity with technologies such as MLIR, StableHLO, or OpenXLA is highly preferred
• Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to bring new technical products to market
