About the Role

Model Technology Solutions helps regulated mid-market and enterprise organizations design, build, govern, and support AI-driven business solutions. As an AI Engineer, you will develop production-grade agents and copilots using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, n8n, and modern AI technologies.

This role combines hands-on engineering with client consulting. You'll build and integrate AI agents, connect them to enterprise systems, establish governance and security controls, and work directly with client IT teams to ensure long-term success and adoption.

We are looking for an engineer who can write code, design AI solutions, and confidently advise CIOs, IT leaders, and business stakeholders on AI strategy, governance, and implementation.

Key ResponsibilitiesAI Agent Engineering

Design, build, deploy, and support AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, n8n, and related platforms.

Develop integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, connectors, OAuth, and enterprise authentication methods.

Write and maintain Python and JavaScript for custom connectors, workflows, tools, and data transformation.

Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge grounding, citation management, and permission-aware access to enterprise content.

Develop evaluation frameworks, testing processes, monitoring, and performance measurement for AI solutions.

Troubleshoot, optimize, and support production AI workloads.

Client Co-Development & Enablement

Co-develop solutions alongside client IT teams rather than delivering black-box applications.

Lead workshops, technical training, office hours, and knowledge transfer sessions.

Create documentation, reusable templates, standards, and implementation guides.

Establish best practices for source control, environments, secrets management, deployment pipelines, and operational support.

AI Strategy, Governance & Adoption

Facilitate discovery sessions to identify high-value AI use cases.

Develop AI roadmaps that balance business value, risk, governance, and data readiness.

Define AI governance frameworks, including identity, permissions, data boundaries, compliance requirements, retention policies, and human oversight processes.

Guide pilot programs, adoption initiatives, and executive reporting on AI outcomes and value realization.

Stay current on AI platform advancements and translate them into practical client recommendations.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering, automation, platform engineering, or related experience.

At least 1 year building and supporting production AI, LLM, or agent-based solutions.

Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript.

Experience with:

REST APIs, JSON, OAuth 2.0, webhooks, and enterprise integrations

Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot

Azure AI Foundry or similar AI platforms

n8n or comparable workflow automation tools

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agent orchestration

Enterprise AI governance, security, and compliance

Understanding of:

Tool and function calling

Multi-agent workflows

Memory and context management

Guardrails and responsible AI practices

Strong client-facing communication, workshop facilitation, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Anthropic Claude, MCP servers, Claude APIs, or related AI ecosystems.

Microsoft Power Platform experience, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power BI.

Azure fundamentals, including Entra ID, Key Vault, and integration architecture.

Experience with vector databases, AI evaluation frameworks, and observability tools.

Familiarity with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF or ISO/IEC 42001.

Microsoft certifications such as AI-102 or Copilot Studio credentials.

Consulting experience supporting healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, or other regulated industries.
