The Role

  • Lead and mentor a team of compiler engineers focused on developing and deploying a new compiler for custom hardware.
  • Drive the technical direction and roadmap for the NKI compiler, ensuring alignment with senior engineers and product strategy.
  • Own the execution and delivery of NKI compiler features, balancing scope, quality, and timelines across release cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frameworks, kernel development, runtime, hardware design, and product management, to bring new features to market.
  • Resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and staying close to the code and hardware.
  • Represent the team's work and priorities to senior leadership and stakeholders, anchoring decisions in customer impact.

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of experience in engineering team management.
  • 6+ years of direct experience working within engineering teams.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
  • Understanding of compilers, including resource management, instruction scheduling, code generation, and compute graph optimization.
  • Strong software design fundamentals and excellent system-level coding skills.
