About The Role
As a Principal Software Engineer at NVIDIA, you will play a pivotal role in transforming AI networking systems. You will lead strategic technical initiatives, guide complex customer engagements, and influence the development of NVIDIA’s networking architecture and products. Your expertise will be essential in managing large-scale deployments, conducting architecture reviews, and assessing risks to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded networking technologies such as BlueField and ConnectX, as well as related ecosystems including DOCA, RDMA, RoCE, and Infiniband. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to translate customer needs into innovative product features, reference architectures, and operational tools, ultimately shaping the future of NVIDIA’s networking solutions.
Qualifications
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
15+ years of relevant industry experience with proven technical leadership
Deep knowledge of networking protocols and distributed systems, including RoCE/InfiniBand, L1–L4 fundamentals, and performance/latency tradeoffs
Proficiency in low-level software development using C/C++
Experience debugging firmware, drivers, and user-space applications
Strong understanding of high-performance networking and system-level debugging techniques
Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to diverse audiences
Responsibilities
Lead the technical strategy for AI Factory networking deployments at strategic customers, including architecture reviews and risk assessments
Serve as the principal technical authority for embedded networking products like BlueField and ConnectX
Engage in deep technical collaborations with hyperscalers and AI Factory customers, covering design-in, coding, bring-up, performance tuning, and failure analysis
Partner with internal engineering and product teams to convert customer requirements into product features, reference architectures, and operational guidelines
Drive improvements in performance, reliability, and debuggability across customer stacks and incorporate findings into product roadmaps
