## About the Role

Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Software Engineering Directorate within the Effectors Center in Tucson, Arizona.

In this role, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software design, development, integration, testing, and documentation.

You will work on real-time embedded software, application software, and engineering tools while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other technical professionals.

The position is designed for engineers with strong foundational software development skills who are interested in solving complex technical problems and developing next-generation defense capabilities.

Previous defense industry experience is not required, as Raytheon provides opportunities to develop specialized skills and gain experience with advanced aerospace and defense technologies.

## Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with C++, C, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience with hardware-software integration.
  • Experience with embedded system testing.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain required special program access after starting the position.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because of the security clearance requirements.
