iOS Software Engineer
About the role
We're building the operating system for the next generation of computing — one where AI agents replace apps and your technology finally works for you instead of the other way around.
We're a stealth-mode startup with a world-class founding team with deep roots in consumer AI, extended reality, and wearable technology — including founders of some of the most recognizable hardware and software platforms of the last decade. We're backed by strategic partnerships with leading silicon and manufacturing companies, and we're hiring our first mobile engineers to build the client experience from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the interaction model of a platform that doesn't exist yet.
Additional product details shared under NDA.
What We Offer
Salary: competitive depending on experience
Meaningful early-stage equity
Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
Fully remote with occasional in-person time in Silicon Valley or Paris for key milestones
Awear is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
You will own our iOS and MacOS applications, and be responsible for iterating rapidly based on early user feedback, and expand it into the full MVP experience — building the client layer that makes our Agentic OS feel genuinely different from anything users have experienced before.
You will work directly with the CEO and a small, high-trust engineering team across Silicon Valley, Paris. This is a hands-on engineering role with significant influence over how the platform feels to use — not just how it works.
We actively use AI development tools across our engineering team — Cursor, Claude, Copilot — and expect engineers who use them seriously as a core part of their workflow.
What You'll Build
The core iOS client for our Agentic OS — iterating on an existing Swift/SwiftUI codebase and expanding its capabilities toward full MVP release
The agent interaction layer — the surface through which users experience always-on contextual AI for the first time, with no app icons, no menus, and no friction
The memory and context UI — making the platform's persistent, encrypted memory layer feel intuitive and trustworthy to users
A companion mode that previews the wearable device experience — giving early users a window into what platform will feel like as a wearable before the hardware ships
On-device processing integrations — working closely with the backend team to minimize cloud dependency and maximize what runs locally on device
A feedback and iteration loop with closed beta users — this is a friends and family release and you will have direct access to real user reactions
Ideal Experience
4+ years of iOS engineering experience with strong Swift and SwiftUI skills
Deep understanding of iOS platform patterns — lifecycle, state management, background processing, permissions, notifications
Experience building consumer-facing products where UX quality and interaction polish matter as much as technical correctness
Comfort inheriting and improving an existing codebase rather than building exclusively greenfield
Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks — Core ML, Create ML, or similar — is a strong plus given our emphasis on local processing
Active user of AI-assisted development tools with a genuine point of view on how to use them well
Strong written English and proven ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed team
Must be authorized to work in the US
Strong plus: experience with always-on or background audio processing, privacy-preserving on-device data architectures, wearable or AR companion app experience
