Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer at Job Spread, you will design, develop, and maintain core backend services that power our recruitment platform. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, well-tested code, performing code reviews, optimizing system performance, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. You will also contribute to architectural decisions, mentor less experienced engineers, and help improve engineering best practices and development workflows. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Redwood City, CA, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in modern languages and frameworks.

Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building APIs and microservices at scale.

Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing practices.

Ability to analyze complex problems, propose solutions, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Previous experience in high-growth or product-focused environments; familiarity with recruitment or HR technology is a plus.
