About The Role

Metas Solutions LLC is currently seeking an experienced and strategic AI-ML Engineer Technical Lead to support the modernization of public health platforms. This immediate opening involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI capabilities, including AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and large language models (LLMs). The role focuses on enabling dynamic interaction with structured and unstructured public health data to facilitate real-time insights and improve decision-making processes across critical environments. The successful candidate will architect and optimize AI systems, develop data models for AI agents, manage memory and state, and ensure high-performance retrieval processes tailored to public health use cases. This position demands a proactive leader who can develop rigorous AI evaluation strategies, ensure trustworthy outputs, and support scalable solutions. The role is based in Atlanta, GA, and requires on-site support to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, or computer science, coupled with at least 8 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models. Extensive hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or RAG applications is essential, along with proficiency in Python for machine learning and data engineering tasks. Experience working with Azure cloud services and SQL for data manipulation and feature engineering is required. Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, as well as the ability to support on-site work in Atlanta, GA, is necessary. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements. Additional preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare or public health data projects, full-stack development, deploying ML solutions via MLOps pipelines, and knowledge of government public health data architecture. Skills in chatbot development, conversational AI, Agile workflows, and excellent communication abilities are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

The AI-ML Engineer Technical Lead will be responsible for integrating advanced AI technologies, including AI agents, to enhance platform functionality, support real-time data interaction, and enable dynamic decision-making. Developing and implementing rigorous AI evaluation strategies will be critical to ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of deployed solutions. The role involves designing foundational system architecture, including data modeling for AI agents, memory and state management, and constructing and optimizing RAG pipelines. The candidate will drive the performance optimization of retrieval workflows tailored to public health use cases, ensuring adherence to strict data quality, curation, and documentation standards in collaboration with cross-functional AI teams. Maintaining compliance with privacy requirements, anonymization protocols, and ethical guidelines for responsible public health data management is essential. Additionally, the role includes supporting the deployment of scalable AI solutions, mentoring team members, and collaborating with stakeholders to align AI initiatives with organizational objectives.
