Fully remote role at a well-funded AI startup building a greenfield platform. Focused on advanced AI/ML infrastructure and Generative AI for complex document corpora.

Role: Senior Machine Learning Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA, US (Remote)
Experience
5+ years of experience in machine learning and software development
Focus on AI/ML infrastructure
Proven expertise in Generative AI
Strong experience with modern version control systems
Advanced knowledge of AI/ML model development, evaluation, and rapid iteration
Strong problem-solving skills for scalable solutions
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable machine learning infrastructure for data ingestion, processing, and interpretation
Architect robust systems that accommodate various encoded rules and ensure accuracy and compliance in AI/ML outputs
Develop machine learning models in the context of knowledge graphs to improve interpretation of complex datasets
Implement evaluation frameworks to assess model performance and iterate quickly based on feedback and results
Integrate Generative AI into existing and new machine learning pipelines
Work across frontend and backend teams to support rapid iteration and deployment of AI solutions
Manage code repositories using modern version control practices
Additional Responsibilities
Work extensively with complex document corpora
Use modern AI/ML tools and Generative AI infrastructure
Stay ahead of industry trends in Generative AI
Push best practices in code quality
