About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Investment Experience Technology team within USAA’s Technology group. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our next-generation investment services platform. Working in a fast-paced, agile environment, you will collaborate with a talented team to design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions that deliver impactful digital experiences to our members and financial advisors. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree or have equivalent experience, with additional qualifications including approved certifications from recognized IT training providers such as CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT, or eFIT. Candidates should have software development experience with Java or Python and possess foundational knowledge of software development principles. A basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools is preferred. Effective communication skills are essential to articulate technical challenges and solutions clearly. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions under supervision, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.

Write clean, efficient code to deliver new features and enhancements regularly, contributing to the continuous improvement of the platform.

Investigate and resolve technical issues and production outages using troubleshooting techniques to ensure system stability.

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing development and knowledge sharing.

Develop and improve automated tests to enhance code quality and application reliability.

Contribute to application stability, scalability, and security by participating in code reviews and adhering to best practices.

Ensure compliance with risk management, security policies, and regulatory requirements by effectively identifying and managing potential risks.
