Job Profile Summary
The Digital Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of modern digital products, services, and integration solutions across web, API, and cloud-native platforms. Working as part of an agile delivery team, this role contributes to the development of scalable applications and integration capabilities that enable business processes, digital experiences, and data exchange across enterprise systems.
The Digital Product Engineer develops and supports APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and cloud-based services while leveraging modern development practices, DevOps automation, and AWS technologies. The role collaborates with engineers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Core Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications and integration solutions.
Develop cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services and infrastructure.
Build and maintain data integrations using APIs, messaging, event streaming, and interoperability technologies.
Participate in solution design activities and contribute to technical discussions.
Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices to support software delivery.
Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and team members to deliver business requirements and product features.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing applications and integration services.
Support data movement and transformation initiatives across operational and analytical platforms.
Ensure solutions comply with security, performance, and operational standards.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in peer reviews and team knowledge-sharing activities.
Stay informed on relevant technologies, tools, and engineering practices.
Assist with operational support and incident resolution activities.
Perform additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the role, as assigned.
Required Skills And Experience
3+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills and military experience will be considered
Cloud Service Provider Certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals) required within 1 year of employment
Essential Candidate Qualities:
Creative thinking, strong communication skills, curiosity, self-motivated, time management skills
High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Technical Experience
Application Development
Java, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript
React, Angular, or similar modern UI frameworks
RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns
Cloud & DevOps
AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, IAM)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
Containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
Data Integration & Data Engineering
API-led integration and system interoperability
Event streaming platforms such as Kafka, MSK, Kinesis, or similar technologies
ETL/ELT concepts and modern data pipeline development
Databricks and Spark preferred
SQL and NoSQL data platforms such as Oracle, Postgres, etc.
Experience working with operational and analytical data platforms
Data modeling and performance optimization are a plus
AI and Emerging Technologies (Nice to have)
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc
Interest in applying AI capabilities to software development, automation, testing, and operational processes.
The projected hourly range for this position is $60-75/hr.
