About The Role

Moody's Corporation is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of AI Platforms and Innovation to lead the strategy, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions across the organization. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of enterprise AI applications, large language models, and modern software architecture. The successful candidate will oversee multiple engineering teams, drive technological innovation, and shape the long-term technical roadmap for Moody's AI initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence how Moody's leverages artificial intelligence to deliver impactful, scalable, and responsible solutions that enhance the company's analytical capabilities and client offerings. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, legal, compliance, and risk, to ensure AI solutions are innovative, ethical, and aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

12+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in leading large-scale, multi-team initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.

At least 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including engineering managers, technical leads, and staff engineers, with a focus on delivering complex projects.

Deep technical expertise in programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar, with the ability to engage in architecture and code reviews and assess technical risks.

Extensive experience in enterprise AI applications, including large language models, retrieval augmented generation, orchestration frameworks, and model evaluation.

Proven experience managing AI systems in production environments, including observability, capacity planning, incident response, and regression detection.

Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, serverless architectures, event-driven systems, data pipelines, and modern software architecture patterns.

Experience developing multi-year technical strategies and guiding organizations from AI prototypes to production deployment.

Deep understanding of AI governance, ethical considerations, and responsible AI practices, with a focus on innovation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for Moody's AI platforms, aligning with organizational goals and market needs.

Oversee the architecture, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions, including large language models, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows.

Lead and grow multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Drive architectural decisions, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable AI systems that adhere to best practices and compliance standards.

Manage budgets related to cloud infrastructure, tooling, vendor relationships, and resource allocation to optimize operational costs.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as product teams, legal, compliance, and risk management to ensure responsible AI deployment and maximize customer value.

Mentor and develop engineering talent, establishing succession plans, performance coaching, and leadership development initiatives.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to platform adoption, system reliability, cost efficiency, and business impact.
