About The Role

The Software Engineer II role at JPMorgan Chase within the Banking Payments division is an exciting opportunity for professionals seeking to develop their skills and advance their careers in software engineering. Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts

Minimum of 2+ years of applied experience in software development

Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

Proficiency in Java programming, including Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and AWS Cloud

Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools

Understanding of responsible AI practices, data security, and secure coding standards

Knowledge of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Familiarity with agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices

Ability to analyze large, diverse data sets to inform decision-making

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and troubleshoot secure and high-quality software solutions

Write clean, efficient code using at least one programming language with minimal guidance

Leverage enterprise-approved AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity

Validate AI-generated outputs through peer reviews, automated testing, and secure coding practices

Develop and maintain components considering upstream and downstream system interactions

Apply SDLC tools and automation capabilities to enhance development efficiency

Engage in technical troubleshooting to resolve issues of basic complexity

Analyze large data sets to identify problems and support decision-making

Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and security standards for reliable code development
