Role Description The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of PPLIED’s hiring platform, with a focus on building reliable, scalable, and secure systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new backend features, optimizing existing code, integrating third-party services, and collaborating with product and design teams to refine requirements. The engineer will participate in code reviews, write automated tests, and help improve development processes and tooling. This is a full-time remote role, requiring effective communication, independent problem-solving, and the ability to work across time zones as part of a distributed team.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using modern languages and frameworks.

Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and performance optimization.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean, maintainable code practices.

Experience with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and automated testing.

Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.

Ability to work remotely with distributed teams, communicate clearly, and document technical decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
