About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing technology and product development organization supporting mission-critical programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DOE). They are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions, navigation technologies, and next-generation defense systems.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in embedded systems development, integration, and testing within defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded hardware and software solutions supporting advanced navigation, timing, and sensing technologies.

Support the development of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems, including GPS/GNSS-enabled applications and related technologies.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Develop and optimize embedded software for real-time and mission-critical applications.

Participate in system architecture, requirements analysis, hardware/software integration, and performance validation.

Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and support technical evaluations and testing efforts.

Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for government and defense customers.

Required Qualifications

Active Secret Security Clearance.

U.S. Citizenship.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

5+ years of embedded systems engineering experience.

Experience with embedded software and/or firmware development.

Experience working within defense, aerospace, national security, or government-supported programs.

Proficiency with C/C++ and embedded system architectures.

Strong understanding of hardware/software integration and system-level debugging.

Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies.

Experience with GPS/GNSS systems, sensor fusion, inertial navigation systems, or Assured PNT (A-PNT).

Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Experience with FPGA development, digital signal processing, or communications systems.

Familiarity with systems engineering principles, test and evaluation, and product development processes.

Previous experience supporting DoD, DOE, defense contractors, or government research organizations.

Location Requirement

Candidates should currently reside within commuting distance of Huntsville, Alabama or be open to relocation.
