About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Software Engineering to join our dynamic team based in Mason, Ohio. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and enhancing our Infrared Camera product lines, supporting all phases of the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will contribute to creating reliable, efficient, and innovative embedded software solutions that meet stringent customer requirements and adhere to industry standards. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in embedded systems, leadership capabilities, and a passion for advancing defense technology.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, complemented by at least six years of relevant engineering experience. Candidates with a graduate degree should have a minimum of four years of pertinent experience, while those without a degree should bring at least ten years of extensive industry experience. Demonstrated expertise in embedded software development using C/C++ for a minimum of two years is essential, along with experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Leadership experience overseeing engineering teams for at least two years is required. Additional qualifications include proficiency in developing low-level software such as drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs), and the ability to obtain US security clearance.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
Apply sound software engineering principles throughout all stages of the software lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
Define and document technical requirements and workflows that contribute to the development of robust software components aligned with project goals, schedules, and cost constraints.
Perform comprehensive unit, integration, and system testing to validate software functionality and reliability.
Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders to facilitate project progress and address technical challenges.
Support bid and proposal activities by providing accurate cost and schedule estimates, contributing to successful project acquisition.
Offer guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and team members to foster professional development and technical proficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, or product innovations to increase efficiency and performance.
Generate detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and release notes, to support software deployment and maintenance.
Support the development of new products and operational plans, ensuring measurable improvements in business or technical outcomes.
Maintain compliance with security protocols and assist in obtaining necessary security clearances for classified projects.
