About The Role

We are seeking an experienced or senior Application Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Weapons team in St. Charles, Missouri, within the St. Louis area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced weapons systems, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile program. As part of this team, you will be instrumental in developing innovative software solutions that support future defense capabilities. The position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive and high-impact nature of our work.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. For senior roles, candidates should have 9 or more years of experience, demonstrating a strong background in software development, architecture, and integration. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is mandatory, with eligibility to obtain Top Secret and SCI clearance preferred. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and C#, along with experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and network communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, are essential. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of software architecture, design methodologies, and development processes aligned with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.

Translate customer requirements into initial software designs, ensuring solutions meet operational needs and performance criteria.

Develop interface definitions and supporting documentation to facilitate system integration and interoperability.

Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in peer reviews to ensure software quality and reliability.

Support software system integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities to guarantee seamless operation within complex systems.

Create comprehensive software documentation to support maintenance, updates, and compliance audits.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions on schedule and within budget.
