Embedded Software Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 3 to support the Remote Control Systems team. The ideal candidate will work as part of a cross-functional engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test robust and scalable features for embedded electronic control systems and vision systems used in remote-control machine applications.
Key Responsibilities
Define system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and end-to-end feature traceability.
Design, develop, integrate, and validate remote-control systems across software, hardware, controls, and communication networks.
Develop and maintain embedded software using C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
Perform system integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Support functional safety, FMEA, product quality, and software/product release activities.
Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development, testing, documentation, and overall engineering productivity.
Collaborate with Remote Control System engineers and global engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
Support development and testing of embedded control systems, communication networks, and machine-control functionality.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
4+ years of relevant experience, with 5–7 years preferred.
Strong experience in embedded software development and systems engineering.
5+ years of experience with Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
5+ years of experience developing embedded systems using RTOS.
3–5 years of experience with system integration.
Strong understanding of requirements engineering, system architecture, electrical schematics, system integration, and V&V.
Experience with CAN, Ethernet, and embedded control systems.
Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer, Wireshark, Git, and modern development/testing tools.
Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Autonomy, Robotics, Remote Control, or Machine Control Systems.
Familiarity with AUTOSAR, Functional Safety, FMEA, HIL/SIL, DOORS/Jama, and automated test frameworks.
Experience working with embedded electronic control systems and vision systems.
Experience supporting production releases and cross-functional engineering activities.
