About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, test, and support embedded software and systems from requirements through production and commercial deployment. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python, along with hands-on experience in ROS1/ROS2, OpenCV, and machine learning development.

This role is well suited for engineers with experience in embedded systems, robotics, autonomy, computer vision, and software development.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for product development and deployment.

Develop software from requirements through production and commercial release.

Write efficient, reliable, and scalable code using C, C++, and Python.

Analyze and improve system efficiency, stability, scalability, and resource utilization.

Develop and troubleshoot embedded software and system-level issues.

Work with hardware schematics and component data sheets to support software development and integration.

Develop and maintain software interfaces, databases, and related system components as required.

Participate in requirements gathering, functional specifications, development, testing, debugging, and delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and deliver product features.

Utilize data communication technologies such as CAN and Ethernet for embedded system development.

Work with cloud-based services, including AWS S3, EC2, and Batch, as part of software development and deployment.

Use GitHub for source control, collaboration, and software development workflows.

Support robotics, autonomy, computer vision, and machine learning applications.

Required Qualifications

2–4 years of relevant industry experience.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Master's degree candidates with 1–2 years of relevant industry experience may also be considered.

Strong programming experience in C, C++, and Python.

Proficiency with ROS1 or ROS2.

Experience with OpenCV and machine learning development.

Knowledge of embedded systems and the software development lifecycle.

Experience troubleshooting software and system-level issues.

Ability to read and understand schematics and component data sheets.

Experience with GitHub and software development tools.

Knowledge of embedded communication/data links such as CAN and Ethernet.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with robotics or autonomous systems.

Experience with AWS services, particularly S3, EC2, and Batch.

Knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, or other development technologies related to embedded systems.

Experience with computer vision, machine learning, or autonomous platforms.
