About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Service Operations Engineering (SOE) Cloud Architect to join McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions tailored for our customer-critical SaaS products. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud platforms, preferably Azure, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native application design. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business goals, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and security.

The SOE Cloud Architect will translate complex business requirements into effective system, application, or process designs for highly integrated and large-scale cloud solutions. Acting as an advocate for the client, you will serve as the ultimate authority on architecture design, providing guidance and direction for development activities. Your role is pivotal in supporting the modernization and migration of mission-critical SaaS applications, ensuring they meet high standards of security, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in cloud architecture and engineering

Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or similar

Strong understanding of cloud-native application design, containers, and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)

Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance standards including HIPAA, PCI, and data privacy regulations

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions and complex troubleshooting

Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and automation strategies is a plus

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure environment

Lead efforts for cloud migration and modernization of SaaS applications to ensure seamless transition and minimal downtime

Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to enhance platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency

Provide architectural guidance for Java-based applications, containerized workloads, and large-scale database environments

Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend automation strategies to optimize infrastructure management

Support and participate in customer-facing technical discussions, providing expert advice and issue resolution

Establish and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across projects

Contribute to the adoption of AI and automation tools that enhance engineering productivity and innovation
