Robotics Automation Software Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Robotics Automation Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.
This role will focus on building and supporting software that powers warehouse automation and robotic operations in a fast-paced retail supply chain environment. You will develop scalable systems that help coordinate autonomous mobile robot fleets, order fulfillment workflows, and the software services that connect robotics with warehouse systems. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with QA, Robotics Engineering, and other technical partners to improve reliability, performance, and delivery.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $110,000+ annually
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications for warehouse automation
Build services to manage autonomous mobile robot fleets and order fulfillment workflows
Develop scalable APIs, event-driven services, and user-facing applications
Ensure effective communication between warehouse systems and robotic integrations
Partner with QA to validate software using digital twin environments
Monitor application performance and address production incidents
Contribute to technical roadmaps and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of professional software development experience
Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with preference for Flutter/Dart
Experience building distributed systems and APIs, such as Kafka and MQTT
Experience with key-value stores, such as Redis, and NoSQL databases
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
