About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Blockchain Platform Nodes to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on optimizing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of blockchain node infrastructure that supports a critical digital asset platform. You will partner closely with engineering and operations teams to strengthen observability, automate resilience, and reduce infrastructure costs through thoughtful system design. The position will also contribute to safe protocol upgrades and clear service-level objectives that help measure and improve service health.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $186,065 – $218,900 annually

Responsibilities

Conduct deep performance optimization across the blockchain node stack to enhance efficiency.

Develop observability and automated failover systems to proactively manage node reliability.

Implement a right-sizing initiative across blockchain nodes to ensure effective use of resources.

Collaborate with various teams to extend performance improvements beyond the node layer.

Establish and define service level objectives (SLOs) for node services, ensuring reliability measurement.

Support protocol upgrades with a focus on performance, ensuring resource efficiency during rollout.

Qualifications

5+ years in software engineering, with a focus on performance analysis and optimization.

Hands-on experience with distributed systems, including diagnosing performance issues and capacity management.

Proficiency in backend programming, particularly Go, and familiarity with systems tooling for observability.

A proven track record of reducing infrastructure costs through engineering solutions rather than increased resources.

Experience with blockchain nodes and consensus protocols, including performance behavior under different conditions.

Responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency and quality.
