About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Android Ecosystem to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will help shape the technical direction of Android platform initiatives, with a strong focus on systems-level software, performance, and scalability.

You will collaborate across engineering teams to drive architectural alignment, resolve complex technical issues, and influence best practices across the organization.

The position also includes mentoring engineers, contributing to roadmap planning, and ensuring high-quality design and documentation for large-scale platform work.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $157,800 – $236,800 annually

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate technical initiatives across teams to achieve architectural consensus

Profile and analyze optimization opportunities across the technology stack

Mentor and provide technical support to engineers throughout the organization

Contribute to the strategic roadmap of platform engineering initiatives

Produce comprehensive technical documentation and engage in design reviews

Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues across software subsystems

Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in software development, especially with Android systems programming

Advanced proficiency in C++, C#, and Java or Kotlin

Demonstrated capability in technical leadership and mentorship

Proven experience in architecting and deploying large-scale systems

Deep understanding of computer architecture and CPU/GPU interactions

Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing engineering practices

Advanced skills in performance diagnostics and debugging
