Software Engineer III
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer III to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space.
This role will focus on building scalable software that supports near real-time decision-making across distributed systems.
The engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists and other engineers to deliver cloud-native applications, modern APIs, and experimentation frameworks that improve operational outcomes.
The work blends backend, frontend, and data engineering responsibilities in a fast-moving environment with strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $102,700 – $231,100 annually
Responsibilities
Design and deliver high-complexity, scalable solutions for near real-time decision systems
Architect and evolve distributed systems, including microservices and RESTful APIs
Develop cloud-native solutions in Azure leveraging Kubernetes
Build and maintain applications using Python for backend and React for frontend
Implement strong testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
Mentor and support other engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
Partner with data scientists to productionize models and support experimentation frameworks
Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing and delivering production-grade software
5+ years of experience with Python and backend service development
5+ years of experience with React or modern frontend frameworks
Experience building cloud-native applications with Azure preferred and Kubernetes
Experience with modern data technologies, including MongoDB or similar and Snowflake or equivalent
Experience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration, such as Airflow
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
