About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Data Scientist, Cybersecurity to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building data-driven approaches to measure security effectiveness, identify anomalous behavior, and improve decision-making across emerging AI-related security challenges. You will partner closely with engineering and product teams to shape evaluation frameworks, instrumentation, and safeguards that reduce risk while preserving operational efficiency.

The position offers a high-ownership opportunity to help define a new analytical discipline in a fast-moving environment, with direct impact on security outcomes and product value.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

Define metrics for measuring AI-agent security and evaluate the effectiveness of security controls

Quantify operational costs and effectiveness of security safeguards to reduce unnecessary friction

Collaborate with teams to strengthen data foundations and improve instrumentation for security decisions

Identify anomalous behaviors and risky access patterns to improve detection and response times

Partner with engineering and product teams to shape AI-driven cybersecurity products

Establish evaluation systems for security findings and connect them to practical outcomes

Measure the full workflow in security issue resolution to improve product value

Design robust experimental strategies to test new security models and workflows

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related quantitative fields solving complex problems

Experience in cybersecurity, fraud prevention, privacy, or another field involving adversarial behavior

Proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to work with complex and incomplete datasets

Skill in defining metrics and evaluation frameworks when ground truth is limited

Strong judgment in experimentation and analysis techniques

Proven collaboration skills with engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional partners

Ability to operate independently and define a structured roadmap in a new domain
