About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer, Cash Line to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role focuses on building and evolving backend systems that support the borrower experience from offer generation through funding and account management. You will partner closely with product, design, and engineering to deliver reliable services, improve system performance, and support experimentation that drives better outcomes for borrowers and the business.

You will contribute to scalable APIs and service-oriented architecture while maintaining strong standards for code quality, testing, and observability.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $142,000 – $196,600 annually

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services and APIs for the borrower journey and related account workflows.

Develop systems that support offer generation, pricing, underwriting, funding, and account management.

Integrate backend capabilities with borrower-facing applications and partner systems as needed.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope and deliver impactful features.

Write well-tested, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews to improve team standards.

Enhance performance, reliability, and observability of systems, and troubleshoot issues across environments.

Support data-driven experimentation and improvements by creating flexible services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

4+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Strong proficiency building backend services and APIs in Python, Java, Kotlin, Ruby, or Node.js.

Experience designing and working with REST or GraphQL APIs and service-oriented architectures.

Solid fundamentals in writing tested, maintainable code with a focus on collaboration through code reviews.

Ability to work effectively with product and design teams from concept to production.
