Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Java, KeeperApp)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Java, KeeperApp) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on building and enhancing backend services that power core application functionality in a fast-paced technology environment. You will partner closely with engineers and product managers to design reliable APIs, improve performance, and deliver secure server-side solutions. The position offers the opportunity to shape backend architecture while supporting the ongoing evolution of a customer-facing software platform.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually
Responsibilities
Design and implement backend services and APIs using Java
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient server-side code
Implement and enhance business logic for core application functionality
Design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance in MySQL
Collaborate with engineers and product managers on feature design
Participate in code reviews and uphold backend engineering best practices
Troubleshoot backend performance and reliability issues
Apply secure coding practices to protect sensitive data
Contribute to Agile development workflows
Qualifications
5+ years of backend software development experience
Strong proficiency in server-side Java
Deep understanding of backend application architecture and APIs
Experience with MySQL or similar databases
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Quick learner who adapts to fast-paced environments
Experience with Kotlin is a significant advantage
