About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will focus on building and evolving backend software that supports product provisioning and licensing in a scalable, reliable environment. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to shape technical decisions, improve system performance, and deliver high-quality features that support the broader platform.

The position also calls for hands-on architectural leadership, code quality advocacy, and mentorship of engineers across the team.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $130,000 – $155,000 annually

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software for product provisioning and licensing

Build scalable and reliable backend services using modern practices

Lead architectural discussions and make high-quality technical decisions

Collaborate across teams to deliver impactful features

Conduct code reviews to ensure clean and maintainable code

Troubleshoot and enhance system performance and reliability

Mentor engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience in production-grade applications

Proficiency in backend development using Java, with knowledge of Golang and Python

Experience with cloud platforms, predominantly AWS

Hands-on knowledge of containerization and infrastructure tools like Docker, Terraform, and Ansible

Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL

Strong grasp of software design principles, testing, debugging, and distributed systems

Excellent communication skills with a focus on mentorship and collaboration
