Senior Software Engineer - NBA
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - NBA to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will focus on designing and delivering backend and platform solutions that power policy evaluation and related operational workflows. You will work closely with engineering partners to build scalable microservices, resilient data structures, and reliable APIs that support highly available services. The position also includes improving development efficiency through thoughtful use of AI-assisted tools while maintaining strong engineering standards.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $106,900 – $147,000 annually
Responsibilities
Architect and implement microservices for action and policy platforms
Ensure services are highly available, scalable, and backward compatible
Design and maintain resilient database schemas
Integrate and manage enterprise rules engines for policy evaluation
Utilize AI tools for schema generation and rule validation
Develop automated tests for database migrations and API compatibility
Mentor junior engineers and uphold technical standards
Qualifications
Minimum 6 years in backend or platform engineering
Experience building microservices and REST/gRPC APIs
Background in database-backed systems with complex schemas
Direct experience with enterprise rules engines such as Drools or IBM ODM
Proficiency in Java and/or Python
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for productivity
