Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Software Engineer I-Embedded C++ to work on a contract basis. This position involves developing and optimizing embedded software for real-time systems using C++. The role requires collaboration with hardware engineers to integrate software solutions into product designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test embedded software components using C++ for resource-constrained systems.
- Debug and optimize existing embedded code to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define software requirements and interfaces.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for embedded software modules.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards for embedded systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with C++ in embedded systems development.
- Proficiency in debugging embedded systems using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Knowledge of hardware-software integration and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, or UART.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks for embedded C++ applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
