Typical Day in the Role:

Purpose of the Team: Our team is working on advancing the state of the art in robotic learning and foundation models.

Candidate Requirements:

Disqualifiers: Candidates with employment gaps will not be eligible for the role.

Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain PHD level work or studies in a robotics lab

The main function of an AI Engineer- Robotics is to be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining AI and machine learning models. This specific role will be in support of Embodied AI and Robotics research.

Job Responsibilities:

Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects

Architect, design and implement our test automation infrastructure.

Develop training and evaluation pipelines using Azure Machine Learning

Analyze and refine training datasets for robotic and AI applications

Develop tools to provide fast deployment of novel algorithms in simulation and on hardware.

Integrate robotic control and perception stacks with simulation frameworks

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

5-7 years of related experience required

A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

Experience with using simulation environments or robotic hardware

Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems

Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution

Background in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch

Typical day in role:

A typical day would include integrating a new simulation or robotic arm with our robotic learning framework by adapting our server/client code to the new API. Followed by collecting and converting demonstrations in that environment into the correct format for training a model. Finally launch finetuning runs of our internal VLAs and baseline external VLAs to be evaluated the next day.

ROS2 – 1 year
