Responsibilities

A client with Kforce is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their team. This role is based in their New York City office, working a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site per week. Overview: Our goal is to reduce the client's overall fraud exposure by using and creating state-of-the-art solutions, while also maintaining a delightful user experience for the good customers. The responsibility is end-to-end with scope as analysis, detection, prevention, metrics, dashboards, and building fraud prevention tools. The team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Contractor) to take part in developing all technical aspects of these systems, working roughly 80% hands-on (new code, modifying existing code, and test automation). Key Tasks:

Design, develop, and maintain backend software (and frontend where applicable), including feature enhancements, bug fixes, and proofs-of-concept

Build complete solutions for complex problems that interface with multiple services, platforms, and business units

Develop and integrate platform capabilities in the cloud, including cloud architecture design and deployment

Modify and enhance existing components to support migration from legacy/on-prem systems to next-generation cloud architecture

Implement the complete software development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in the cloud

Design and build automated tests as part of the development and integration process

Integrate services and components across a distributed platform

Gather functional requirements, author technical specifications, and perform project and test planning

Work effectively as a member of an agile development team

Review peers' code and provide constructive, actionable feedback

Research new solutions, build proofs-of-concept, and assess third-party tools and technologies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Understand fraud end-to-end use cases, policies, and methodologies

Understand other teams' systems, codebases, and CI/CD processes well enough to contribute directly

Quickly read and digest documentation and design, leverage available resources to find answers and solutions independently

Proactively communicate status and blockers in a clear, timely manner

Deliver solutions which are scalable, performant, and reliable

Code contributions to Fraud Prevention capabilities to existing code

Be a self-starter with a proactive attitude

Be a good listener, while also holding strong, well-reasoned opinions on the right technical approach

Be collaborative and easy to work with

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
