Are you a client-focused .NET engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges? Do you have experience consulting with clients, understanding their business and technical requirements, and designing API-based solutions?
We are looking for an API Integration Consultant with strong .NET development skills and a solid understanding of Enterprise Permitting & Licensing (EPL). This role will work directly with clients and internal teams to design, build, and support reliable integrations between EPL and external systems.
Responsibilities
Consult with clients to understand their business processes, technical environments, and integration requirements.
Translate client needs into scalable API and system-integration solutions.
Design, develop, test, and support RESTful APIs and services using .NET and C#.
Build integrations between EPL solutions and client or third-party applications.
Develop a strong understanding of EPL frameworks, APIs, business models, and workflows.
Provide clients with technical recommendations, integration guidance, and implementation support.
Lead technical discussions and clearly explain solution designs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Create API specifications, data mappings, integration diagrams, and technical documentation.
Troubleshoot complex API, data, authentication, performance, and system-integration issues.
Review client integration designs and recommend improvements based on established standards and best practices.
Develop proof-of-concept solutions to validate integration approaches when needed.
Apply object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and secure development practices.
Build automated unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
Collaborate with product, engineering, implementation, and client teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Work within an Agile development environment and provide technical guidance to less-experienced team members.
Required Technical Skills
Strong Microsoft .NET and C# development skills
ASP.NET Core, Web API, and RESTful services
API design, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting
Enterprise application and third-party system integrations
JSON, XML, HTTP, and common API authentication methods
SQL Server, relational database design, T-SQL, and stored procedures
Entity Framework and LINQ
Object-oriented programming and design patterns, including Dependency Injection
Unit-testing frameworks such as NUnit or Microsoft testing frameworks
Visual Studio and source-control tools such as Git or TFS
Understanding of cloud technologies, preferably AWS
Supporting Skills
Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
Elasticsearch
MVC, MVVM, and service-oriented architecture
Experience with API testing and documentation tools
Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and integration troubleshooting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Two or more years of software-development, API integration, or technical-consulting experience.
Experience gathering client requirements and converting them into technical integration solutions.
Strong understanding of Enterprise Permitting & Licensing solutions, frameworks, APIs, or related business processes.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working directly with clients during solution design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and functional teams.
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other team members is a plus.
