Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead development, integration, and support of the Calypso Back Office platform supporting settlements, accounting, reconciliations, and post-trade processing across Capital Markets. This role will provide technical leadership for critical back-office systems, drive strategic platform enhancements, and partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will:

Lead development and support of the Calypso Back Office platform, supporting settlements, accounting, reconciliations, and post-trade processing

Design, develop, test, and implement Calypso enhancements, interfaces, workflows, and integrations

Ensure platform stability, operational efficiency, and compliance with risk, regulatory, and audit requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to trade processing, settlements, accounting, and system integrations

Drive process improvements, automation, and optimization of back-office operations and controls

Partner with Operations, Finance, Production Support, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver strategic initiatives and maintain platform reliability

Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and lead project delivery across cross-functional teams

Collaborate with stakeholders and influence technical direction for the Calypso Back Office ecosystem

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies

5+ years of experience designing and supporting integrations between vendor platform and upstream/downstream systems using APIs, messaging, and batch interfaces.

5+ years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues in a high-availability environment

5+ years of experience of SDLC, application architecture, testing, release management, and production support processes

5+ years of experience leading complex technology initiatives and mentoring software engineers

Desired Qualifications:

10+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience

8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies

3+ years of experience supporting or developing solutions on the Calypso platform, preferably within Back Office modules

Strong knowledge of capital markets operations, including settlements, accounting, payments, reconciliations, and post-trade processing

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner across Technology, Operations, and Business teams

Expectations:

Willingness to work onsite - this position offers a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
