About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Linthicum Heights, MD. This role is integral to safeguarding our nation's security infrastructure by providing expert engineering support for cryptographic solutions and network security products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, cryptographic techniques, and software development practices. In this position, you will work on cutting-edge projects that involve developing, testing, and deploying secure software solutions tailored for the Intelligence Community (IC). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in data protection and encryption technologies, ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security initiatives while advancing your career in cybersecurity engineering.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with fourteen (14) years of relevant software engineering experience may qualify without a degree.

At least fourteen (14) years of professional experience as a Software Engineer working on programs or contracts of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements.

Active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is mandatory.

Strong knowledge of cryptographic principles, including PKI, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, and hashing algorithms.

Proficiency in software development using Python, JavaScript, and functional programming paradigms.

Experience with markup and data-interchange formats such as YAML, JSON, and HTML.

Hands-on experience building and maintaining software within Linux and Windows environments, utilizing tools like VS Code, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Scapy.

Deep understanding of low-level network protocols including TCP/IP and the OSI model.

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Providing advanced engineering, cybersecurity analysis, and cryptographic solutions to enhance the security posture of deployed products across the Intelligence Community.

Driving innovation in data protection, high-assurance encryption, and secure computing architectures to support national security infrastructure.

Designing, developing, and testing software applications, including authoring robust unit, integration, and system-level test suites.

Developing software primarily using Python, JavaScript, and functional programming techniques, while utilizing markup and data formats such as YAML, JSON, and HTML.

Building and maintaining software within modern Linux and Windows environments, leveraging tools such as VS Code, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Scapy.

Applying deep domain knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and cryptographic principles to support secure software development and deployment.

Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to identify security vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Documenting technical processes, findings, and solutions to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing across teams.
