About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team at LinkUp. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning applications at scale. You will work within an Agile environment, collaborating closely with data scientists, data engineers, and product teams to translate complex business problems into actionable ML solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our ML architecture, ensuring high performance, scalability, and robustness of our systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative projects, influence technical standards, and contribute to the advancement of AI capabilities within the organization.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with at least 6 years of experience in designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing frameworks. You should have a strong programming background in Python, Scala, or Java, with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or Doctoral degree, along with extensive experience in building production-ready data pipelines, working with industry-recognized ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, and deploying ML solutions in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Leadership experience, a track record of industry contributions, and familiarity with responsible AI practices are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable ML models and components that address real-world business challenges. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data pipelines, optimize model performance, and automate deployment processes. Ensuring the high availability, reliability, and security of ML applications is critical, along with maintaining models in production through retraining and monitoring. You will leverage cloud platforms and build data architectures to support large-scale ML operations, employing best practices in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). Additionally, you will oversee code quality, ensure models adhere to governance standards, and promote responsible and explainable AI practices. Mentoring junior team members and leading technical initiatives will also be part of your role.
