About The Role
The Senior Operations Research Scientist will be a key contributor within McKesson's Enterprise Data Science Team, focusing on designing and deploying advanced simulation and optimization solutions to improve supply chain efficiency. This role involves developing innovative stochastic process models, digital twins, and decision support tools to optimize inventory, transportation, and labor planning. The candidate will work on strategic projects involving inventory optimization, transportation network modeling, and other supply chain challenges, translating complex data-driven insights into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders. The role requires a strong foundation in statistics, operations research, and data science, along with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
Typically 7+ years of relevant professional experience
Proficiency in developing stochastic process simulations and optimization models
Strong knowledge of probability, statistics, and machine learning techniques
Experience with SQL for data wrangling and manipulation
Hands-on experience with statistical modeling in Python and/or R
Excellent communication skills for presenting complex results to diverse audiences
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Develop dashboards, applications, or decision support tools to expose model insights to stakeholders
Stay current with emerging analytic methodologies and incorporate them into ongoing projects
Present findings and recommendations to technical and executive audiences effectively
