Staff Software Engineer
PlanolyAbout the role
Planoly is a profitable, bootstrapped platform trusted by 30,000+ creators and solopreneurs. We’re nearing the finish line on a ground-up rebuild of the product on a modern TypeScript stack, including a React Native mobile experience. We need a US-based staff engineer who wants to own large surface areas and ship fast with a small, senior team.
What You'll Do
Ship features end-to-end — from database schema and GraphQL resolvers to React components and mobile screens
Build and evolve our shared core: authentication, permissions, notifications, and billing logic that powers every platform
Help complete and refine our React Native mobile experience with Expo
Design durable background workflows for scheduling, payments, and integrations
Improve performance across our Next.js platforms and strengthen DX across the monorepo
Collaborate directly with product, design, and marketing to shape what we build

Durable background workflows for scheduling, payments, and integrations utilizing Inngest
Modern web platforms built with Next.js, React 19, Tailwind CSS, and a custom Radix UI design system
Extensive GraphQL API and client-side data fetching with Apollo
Backend services using Node.js, PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM, and integrated systems like Stripe and Novu
Completing the full mobile experience using React Native, Expo, and Uniwind
Deployment on Vercel, managed in a TypeScript monorepo using pnpm and Turborepo, and tested with Vitest and Playwright
Who You Are
Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals — you've built and maintained production applications
US-based full stack engineer with 6+ years of professional experience
Comfortable across the full stack: databases, APIs, and frontend
React Native / Expo experience, or strong willingness to ramp up quickly
Pragmatic engineering judgment — you ship and iterate rather than over-architect
You thrive in ambiguity and move with urgency
Bonus: creator economy, social media, or content tools background
