Job Description:
We are seeking a highly hands-on Mobile Software Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered experiences within Slack. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy coding, solving challenging mobile engineering problems, and building scalable consumer-facing products. You will work directly with AI researchers and product teams to integrate pre-built AI models into Slack's mobile applications, enabling real-time interactions, streaming responses, and voice-enabled experiences for users worldwide.
Responsibilities
Integrate AI models and services into Slack mobile applications.
Develop and maintain high-quality Android and/or iOS applications.
Build real-time communication pathways between mobile applications and backend AI services.
Implement streaming experiences for AI-generated responses and user interactions.
Stream audio and user inputs to AI systems in real time.
Design and build scalable, reliable, and performant mobile features.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, AI Researchers, and Engineering teams.
Deliver polished, production-quality consumer experiences.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional mobile development experience.
Strong experience building and shipping production mobile applications.
Expertise in Android development using Kotlin (preferred) and/or Java.
Experience with iOS development using Swift is a plus.
Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and best practices.
Experience with WebSockets, real-time messaging, streaming technologies, or persistent client-server connections.
Experience building mobile applications that interact with backend services in real time.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced product environment.
Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
