Full Stack Software Engineer
About the role
Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global professional services firm headquartered in New York City, for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their technology team. This is a chance to build internal platforms and client-facing tools used by a firm with a worldwide footprint, working across the entire stack from database to browser on products that support thousands of employees and clients.
Day to day, you will move fluidly between front-end and back-end work, pairing with product managers and designers one day and tuning API performance the next. The role suits an engineer who enjoys ownership, is comfortable navigating ambiguity in a large organization, and wants their code to have visible impact on how a global firm operates.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
Design and build full stack features across web applications used internally and by clients
Write clean, well-tested code for both front-end interfaces and back-end services
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with internal systems
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to scope new features
Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across the stack
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge through documentation and pairing
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Requirements
5plus years of professional experience in full stack software development
Strong proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern front-end framework such as React
Solid experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Hands on experience with Node.js or a similar back-end runtime
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Comfortable working in an agile team environment with CI CD pipelines
Strong communication skills and ability to work across distributed teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
