AI Engineer
About the role
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing AI company developing next-generation software that enables enterprises to automate sophisticated, high-impact processes. This role sits at the forefront of applied AI, combining agent architectures, LLM systems, intelligent model selection, evaluation, and production infrastructure.
You’ll take cutting-edge AI capabilities and turn them into scalable, dependable products—working closely with engineering and research teams to solve challenging problems around autonomous systems and complex workflows.
What You’ll Do
Architect and enhance the infrastructure powering autonomous AI agents, including tools, memory, state, planning, and execution.
Develop AI systems capable of reasoning through and completing complex workflows spanning multiple steps and tools.
Create orchestration layers that dynamically determine which models, tools, or strategies should be used for different tasks.
Build an extensible AI platform capable of supporting multiple foundation models and adapting as the underlying model ecosystem evolves.
Design evaluation and monitoring systems to assess agent quality, detect regressions, and continuously improve system performance.
Establish benchmarks and automated testing methodologies for complex, non-deterministic AI applications.
Stay current with advances in LLMs, agentic systems, retrieval, computer-use technology, and related research, translating promising techniques into production.
Rapidly prototype and iterate on prompts, retrieval strategies, model configurations, fine-tuning approaches, and agent workflows.
Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering standards, and the growth of the broader AI engineering team.
What We’re Looking For
Strong foundations in computer science, with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Professional experience developing and deploying LLM-based products, autonomous agents, or AI-driven automation systems.
Strong knowledge of agent frameworks, LLM APIs, tool/function calling, retrieval systems, prompting, model routing, and AI orchestration.
Experience taking experimental AI techniques from prototype or research stage through to robust production implementation.
Ability to work effectively across research and engineering, with a strong bias toward experimentation and rapid iteration.
Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in building reliable systems around rapidly evolving AI technology.
