Why this role exists
Enterprises are adopting Palantir Foundry and AIP faster than they can operationalize them. The platform is the easy part — the value is in the implementation: ontology design, data pipelines, production agents, and adoption. We're hiring two senior forward-deployed engineers to embed directly with strategic enterprise accounts and deliver that value at a pace and cost that in-house and Big-4 teams can't match. This is hands-on, client-facing, high-ownership work for people who want their code in production and measured against real business outcomes.
What you'll do
Embed with enterprise clients as the technical lead on Palantir Foundry/AIP engagements — from discovery through production.
Design and build the Ontology: objects, properties, links, and actions that model the client's business.
Build data pipelines and transformations (Pipeline Builder, code repositories) that feed the ontology from messy, real-world source systems.
Develop production AI agents and LLM-powered functions using AIP Logic, AIP Agent/Chatbot Studio, and Automate, with human-in-the-loop controls.
Build operational applications in Workshop and via the Ontology SDK (Python / TypeScript / Java).
Own the last mile that most vendors skip: evaluation, governance, security/permissions, and user adoption.
Act as trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders, and mentor Damco delivery engineers to scale the practice behind you.
What you'll bring (required)
5+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or AI/ML engineering overall.
2+ years hands-on with Palantir Foundry and/or AIP in a delivery or production setting (we weight depth of real deployments over years).
Strong Python and SQL; comfort with PySpark and at least one of TypeScript/Java.
Proven experience building and operationalizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT against complex enterprise sources (ERP, claims, core banking, manufacturing/IoT, etc.).
Practical experience with LLMs and agentic AI — prompt/agent design, tool use, retrieval, evaluation, and the guardrails that make agents safe in production.
Excellent client-facing communication — you can lead a technical conversation with a CIO and a data engineer in the same meeting.
Willingness to travel to client sites as engagements require.
Nice to have
Palantir certification (Foundry Data Engineer, Application Developer, AI Engineer, or Solution Architect).
Prior Forward Deployed Engineer experience (at Palantir or a Palantir delivery partner).
Domain depth in insurance, healthcare, financial services, or manufacturing.
Experience with adjacent platforms (Databricks/Mosaic AI, Microsoft Fabric + Azure AI Foundry) — we're platform-agnostic and value engineers who can meet a client on the stack they already run.
Experience mentoring or leading small delivery teams.
