Position Summary:

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex software solutions using Java Spring Boot and modern UI frameworks to achieve business objectives. The position requires ensuring that applications meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements, while emphasizing scalability, maintainability, and integration.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in microservices architecture, cloud-native development (OpenShift/Kubernetes), and modern front-end frameworks (Angular/React), along with industry best practices in development, testing, and architecture.

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Responsibilities:

Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained

Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack

Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle

Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

Automates manual release activities

Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

Develop high-quality, scalable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture

Build and enhance RESTful APIs and web services

Design, develop, and maintain containerized applications deployed on OpenShift/Kubernetes

Write clean, maintainable, and testable code aligned with defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

Design and evolve application architecture, APIs, and reusable components while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards

Participate in story refinement, requirement definition, and effort estimation

Perform POCs/spikes to evaluate new technologies and mitigate risks

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA, and DevOps

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in software development

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs

Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration platforms

Front-end development experience using Angular or React (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Experience with relational (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, etc.)

Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica or similar)

Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application design

Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)

Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies

Ability to contribute to requirement definition, design discussions, and solution implementation

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with cloud-native development and DevOps practices

Exposure to event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar messaging systems)

Familiarity with API gateways, security (OAuth2, JWT), and service mesh technologies

Hands-on experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools

Experience with JIRA and Agile project tracking tools

Ability to understand stakeholder needs and translate them into technical solutions

Strong capability to analyze business processes and implement efficient solutions

Experience in application troubleshooting, debugging, and production support

Ability to document technical designs, workflows, and processes

Experience creating user documentation and training materials

Pay range

$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
