About the role

Piper Companies is looking to fill the role of Senior Software Engineer in Test for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Senior Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and accuracy of a system that tracks certification status, milestones, deliverables, risks, and program progress across multiple Common Criteria evaluations. The Senior Software Engineer in Test role is a hybrid contract position located in Morrisville, NC.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer in Test Include:

Designed and implemented comprehensive test strategies to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of a Common Criteria program management platform.

Developed and maintained automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, backend services, and data integration pipelines.

Created automated test suites to validate workflow automation, project status tracking, dashboard reporting, milestone management, notifications, alerts, and data synchronization across systems.

Built and executed regression, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing solutions to support continuous delivery and application stability.

Validated integrations with enterprise tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Confluence, GitHub, and other project management platforms while ensuring data accuracy and system interoperability.

Collaborated with engineering teams to establish quality standards within CI/CD pipelines, improve application observability, support performance and security testing, resolve defects, and promote test automation best practices.

Qualifications for the Senior Software Engineer in Test Include:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles.

Proven experience designing and building automated test frameworks from the ground up to support scalable and maintainable quality engineering practices.

Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages, with hands-on experience developing automated testing solutions.

Extensive experience testing enterprise web applications, distributed systems, APIs, and backend services, with a strong understanding of service validation and system integration testing.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile software development, DevOps practices, and automated quality assurance processes throughout the software development lifecycle.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities, with preferred experience in cloud-native applications, security testing, workflow or reporting platforms, and regulated or compliance-driven environments.

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer in Test include:

$115,000-$130,000
